Understanding Car Insurance Quotes and Coverage

When obtaining your car insurance quotes, it is important that you understand what the different types of coverage means. In order to ensure that your car is protected and that you are obtaining the correct level of car insurance coverage, you need to understand which types of car insurance are available to you through the different insurance companies.

There are four main categories of insurance coverage, each of which is broken down into subcategories:

  • Liability Insurance is for when your vehicle, whether you are driving it or someone else is, does damage to someone else. This is a type of coverage that you must purchase according to the law, and is always included in car insurance quotes. It is divided into two subcategories:
    • Bodily Injury Liability Coverage is the insurance that will pay the expenses of any injury or damage done to the other person involved in the accident. You, as the driver, are not covered by this insurance, but all of the passengers in your vehicle are covered by this insurance if the accident is your fault.
    • Property Damage Liability Coverage is the insurance that will cover the costs of repairing the physical property of the other person in the accident. This includes their car, but can also involve houses, lawns, gardens, mailboxes, and anything else that could get damaged in a car accident. It won't cover your car, but only damage to other parties' property.
  • Physical Damage Coverage helps to cover the property that you own in an accident, and this is the most common type of insurance covered on car insurance quotes.
    • Collision Coverage is the insurance that covers your vehicle if it collides with another object, such as another vehicle or building. This will usually cover the costs of the repairs, and you will want to check your car insurance quotes thoroughly to understand what the deductible policy is on your car.
    • Comprehensive Coverage is an insurance that will pay out for any damage suffered by your car in a collision with an animal, a tree, if it gets stolen, or if vandalized. This is an extra type of coverage, but is good to have nonetheless.
  • Uninsured Motorist Coverage is an insurance that will cover your car in a situation in which the person responsible doesn't have insurance to cover the costs of repair. It is divided into two subcategories of insurance coverage:
    • Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage is an insurance that will pay out for any hospital bills for injuries to yourself and to anyone else in the car. It will also help to cover the cost of expenses if the responsible person's insurance can't cover the entire cost of treatment.
    • Uninsured Motorist Property Damage is an insurance that will cover the cost of the repairs to your car. If you have Collision Damage Coverage, this type of coverage should make up the cost of your deductible policy.
Personal Injury Protection Coverage will cover the cost of any damage done to pedestrians or people in the car in an accident. This one may not be included in your car insurance quotes, so it is important that you research thoroughly to find out what your insurance company's policy is on it.

Notifying Visitors of Site Enhancements

Another idea for my home page's text is notifying visitors about the enhancements I put on my site. For example, I want visitors to sign my guestbook or fill out my survey Form E-mailer to answer questions about my site, my business, or my site's topic.
